How to Use eMediaSearch
The Search
eMediaSearch is designed to assist your online campaign development by searching for media
opportunities that best match your needs. The search will only look for resources that
match your combination of choices. Remember, you do not have to use all the options to
execute a search.
- Use the pull down menus and fill-in fields at the top of the form to designate specific
demographic search criteria. These fields will determine which resources have the highest
percentage of users based on your choices.
- The Media Types check boxes let you search for a particular kind of online medium. If you
do not check any boxes, the search will return all types. eMediaSearch uses the
following definitions:
Web: Web-based media are located on a Web page or are activated by a request for a particular Web page. Examples include: banners, interstitials, text links, etc.
E-Mail: E-mail based media include advertising sent via e-mail newsletters, opt-in promotions, etc., and may also take the form of banners and text or text links.
Alternative: Alternative media are online marketing opportunities that may not be strictly advertising based, such as loyalty programs, but are valuable marketing tools you may want to consider for your campaign.
- The Advertising Minimum criteria allows you to limit your search by screening out any record
whose minimum advertising requirement exceeds your specified amount.
- The Keyword field lets you search for words or phrases located in each resource record.
- By checking the Additional Targeting Capabilities box, your search looks for resources that offer additional target abilities other than those listed above, such as Browser Type, Time, etc.
- Use the geographic check boxes to find region specific media such as local city guides, newspapers, etc. This is a separate search and the results are listed in addition to the others in your query.
The Results
When you execute a search, the results page will provide a list of resources broken down into several
categories. Clicking on the name of a resource will take you to its detailed record. Since
the goal of the directory is to save time and energy on campaign research, if you have more than 20
returns in each category, the system will request you refine your search.
Requirement Search
This category contains the resources that match the Demographic, Media Type, Keyword, Advertising
Minimum, and Additional Targeting Capabilities information you input on the form.
Targeting Search
This category contains the resources that do not provide percentage breakdowns on demographic criteria,
but offer targeted campaigns that can use these options. A light blue bar will appear on these records.
Geographic Search
This category contains any resources that match the geographic criteria you requested.
Large Media Resources
These resources have so much traffic and such varied content that they are able to meet almost
any campaign requirement. As a result, these are included with every search.
The Comparison Report
eMediaSearch also creates comparison reports that highlight key information on selected resources to
help subscribers evaluate their options. The Add To Comparison Report button is available on
individual records, and will lead you to the comparison report screen, where you can add or remove records,
as well as create and view a printable report. Your report will be automatically saved and you can
retrieve it at any time. The report can hold up to 20 resource records.
